ADA Cube Garden Reef Conversion

ADA Cube Garden Reef Conversion

I needed to whittle down my 5 aquariums to a more sensible number. Of course as any sane aquarist knows this can only mean that the first step is to purchase yet another. Cycling means overlap of Wiggins-esque proportions. So, to get rid of my 15l and 30l marine nanos I purchase another 30l. Some people have more marine tanks than sense… :busted: Ok ok you’re bored already. Bloody t’interweb generation. Here’s the pics so far: At the back … Read entire article »

Dwarf fuzzy lionfish (Dendrochirus brachypterus)

Dwarf fuzzy lionfish (Dendrochirus brachypterus)

Purchased yesterday and in the small quarantine tank. Has taken a few bits of frozen mysis already which is great news. It’s a very small specimen and currently has a really nice red shade to its pectoral fins which I hope it will keep as it matures. These fish are voracious predators, with a venomous defensive mechanism. This fuzzy mainly feeds on small invertebrates but it’s larger cousins are currently causing havoc in the Caribbean destroying fish populations. An … Read entire article »

The Mantis Tank is Born

The Mantis Tank is Born

I will be getting a Peacock Mantis within the next week so time was of the essence to get the tank set up. Peacock mantis are smashers and are therefore both dangerous to human hands and also glass aquariums. My mantis will be about 4 inches to start with and the … Read entire article »

Four Lined Wrasse, Pseudocheilinus tetrataenia

Four Lined Wrasse, Pseudocheilinus tetrataenia

I was looking for a fish to put in my TMC Micro Habitat. This stunning little Wrasse seemed ideal. It has acclimatised well and will hopefully settle in over the next few weeks. I’ve always admired the lined Wrasses but they can be a little boisterous in captivity so this little nano seemed the perfect place to show it off. … Read entire article »
